Jessica and Jack opted to get married at the house Jessica grew up in. Both the bride and the groom are laid back and outdoorsy, so naturally they wanted the same feel for their wedding day. During my first site visit I was immediately excited about all the possibilities this beautiful yard held (regardless of how cold, cloudy and rainy it was that day.) I immediately started working with Jessica to come up with a design that not only made sense logistically, but really utilized the yard her parents were working tirelessly on.
The day morning of, Jessica and her sisters got ready in an upstairs room overlooking the ceremony space. This was a great location for watching all our plans come together, and to get a sneak peak of their arriving guests. As time grew near it was getting close to the brides walk down the aisle, but not before a special surprise from her mom. As Jessica opened the front door to make her way to the ceremony, she saw her family and wedding party lined up, and two surprise alpaca guests dressed in their wedding attire. Yes, you read that correctly, Alpacas. The friendly animals had been greeting guest as they arrived, and stuck around cocktail hour for some great photo ops. A perfect and unforgettable addition!
The ceremony commenced under a beautiful arbor full of luscious greenery and pops of orange florals, created by Flowers from the Farm. The bride and groom exchanged their vows while standing on a vintage rug with the same color palette as the gorgeous blooms. The ceremony was made personal by including a beautifully sung processional by a close family member, and Jessica's uncle as their officiant. Once the rings were placed, and confetti was tossed, guest transitioned to the backyard for cocktail hour.
The area was transformed into a beautiful garden like atmosphere that included yard games, a cigar bar, live music, and of course beautifully served hors d'oeuvres. A vast array of greenery and touches of orange and gold could be seen throughout the property, as well as geometric lanterns, and custom signage. After cocktail hour guest headed down to the front yard under a large lit up tent where they would be greeted by the PDA Party Band, and delicious food by Catering by Christine. Guest found their table assignments off of repurposed rustic doors that used to be in Jessica's sister's house. The bride and groom were the center of attention at their beautiful farm style head table that was covered in candle light and stunning florals, all in front of an old brick fireplace. Colorful floral centerpieces, and pressed greenery table numbers were the focus at each table. Their guest danced the night away until it was time to head out, but not before grabbing some delicious cookies and a succulent to take home.
This perfect day was captured by the very talented Michael Orzell.
